Training and Events

Advocating in our world is what we do. Before we can organize in our community, we must become organized ourselves. The members of CFILC collaborate together to help put on a number of trainings and events throughout the year. Our trainings are informative and empowering, and our events can be fun and make a direct impact to those around us.

Disability Mentoring Day: Leaders of Tomorrow

Celebrate Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) with an engaging conversation about Disability, work, and life experiences. Hear exciting stories from our Disabled leaders and mentors about their journey.

CFILC's Youth Organizer, Jessica Riestra, will lead an interactive panel discussion with leaders and innovators from the IL network. What is like being Disabled in a world that is not always easy or accessible? What mentors did our panelists have growing up? What advice do they have for Disabled youth?

Our awesome group of panelists include:
Michael Galvan, Executive Director, Community Resources for Independent Living (CRIL)
Lisa Hayes, Executive Director, Rolling Start, Inc. (RSI)
Lillibeth Navarro, Founder and Executive Director, Communities Actively Living Independent & Free (CALIF)
Larry Wanger, Executive Director, Dayle McIntosh Center (DMC)

Presented by: YO! Disabled and Proud, CFILC, and Anthem Blue Cross.
