CRS Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)The California Relay Service (CRS) Department of the Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program (DDTP) has an Administrative Assistant, part-time position available. This 32-hour a week position provides direct support to the CRS department manager. The position is located in the Oakland Headquarters office. The essential duties and responsibilities are as follows: Work directly with the California Relay Service (CRS) Manager in a support capacity, providing administrative, technical, and clerical support and performing general reception duties. Assist with accessing documents and responding to inquiries related to DDTP’s CRS contract management, and gather and disseminate information related to the CRS contracts, invoices and other matters. For example: Annual Complaint log reports. Request and schedule ASL interpreters for DDTP meetings, and coordinate logistical arrangements for meetings with internal and external parties, such as coordinating transportation for the Annual Staff Meeting. Assist in gathering, entering data, and preparing and distributing information for monthly and annual activity reports. Provide information and referrals regarding CRS related services to respond to miscellaneous inquiries. Assist with the arrangement and evaluation of CRS test calls. Maintain CRS information and usage reports and add new fields of information as needed. Interpret for the CRS Department Manager in ASL in one-on-one or small group meetings occasionally as needs dictate. Other duties assigned by the CRS Manager. Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills; be proficient in grammar and spelling; be attentive to details; and have analytical abilities. They must also have the aptitude to write routine reports and correspondences. Have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to converse fluently in American Sign Language, and interpret for CRS Manager as needed. Prior experience working with the disabled community is most desirable.
